AN ARTIST´S DUTY IS, AS FAR AS I´M CONCERNED, TO REFLECT THE TIMES!

Intention
MATTHIAS C. EITNER's decision to break away from the photographic world of advertising in 2015 and turn to painting, to take a more comprehensive perspective, had many reasons. By far the most important was the concern about the blatant loss of the social center.
A. Einstein's insight that reality is an illusion, that we are all the sum of the decisions we have made or not made, is the basis of this work and enables authentic communication between the work and the recipient. Experiencing M. C. Eitner's images provokes language. His interpretations of people, circumstances and landscapes in which they live are more than the sum of their parts, something entirely unique, not primarily autobiographical, but an expression of collective experience... the unconscious!
